POSITION SUMMARY:

Focus Interpreting is looking for a skilled American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to serve the Sulphur, OK area. In this role, you will facilitate communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals by providing accurate, real-time interpretation services across various settings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interpret spoken communication to ASL and vice versa for a diverse clientele in medical, educational, or community settings. Maintain a high standard of confidentiality and professionalism during all interpretation sessions. continually update your knowledge of ASL and English to ensure accurate interpretation. Adapt to varying environments and requirements, providing flexible interpretation services according to the needs of the consumers.

REQUIREMENTS:

Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and proficiency in English, with excellent communication skills in both. Certification as a qualified ASL interpreter is preferred. Strong understanding of Deaf culture and the nuances of communication within it. Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations while ensuring accuracy and clarity in interpretation.
