Role: Epic Acute Domain Owner

Type: Contract

Duration: 12 months

Location: Remote

Position overview:

The Epic Acute Domain Owner for the healthcare space will act as a key subject matter expert and leader for Epic Systems, ensuring the successful integration, customization, and optimization of the Epic platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical, IT, and operational stakeholders, to ensure Epics tools are aligned with business goals and meet the needs of our healthcare professionals and patients.

This role requires a deep understanding of Epic Systems capabilities, along with strong leadership, project management, and strategic planning skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Epic System Ownership: Act as the primary owner of the Epic domain, overseeing all aspects of Epic implementation, configuration, and ongoing management.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with clinical, operational, and IT teams to understand user needs and develop solutions within the Epic framework.
  • System Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize Epic workflows and modules to improve the efficiency, quality, and safety of care delivery.
  • Training & Support: Lead training and education initiatives for end-users (e.g., clinicians, staff) on Epic functionalities, best practices, and new features.
  • Project Management: Manage key initiatives related to Epics integration and enhancement, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in line with organizational objectives.
  • Change Management: Champion change management efforts related to Epic system updates, enhancements, and modifications, including communicating changes and managing resistance.

Qualifications:

  • Must have active Epic certification with the following Epic Acute module (ASAP, Orders, Stork, MyChart, ClinDoc, etc)
  • Previous build experience of 5+ years
  • Experience with galaxy and Nova notes
  • Experience and familiarity with Gold Star Program
  • Team lead or management experience
  • Strategy and roadmap involvement at large healthcare system in the Epic space
